John P. Grant
Founder & CEO, Innov8XR LLC
John P. Grant is an emerging technology strategist and innovation leader with 37+ years of experience spanning the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and private sector. He advises organizations on strategic adoption of extended reality (XR), spatial computing, and artificial intelligence (AI), helping leadership teams navigate operational and workforce transformations.
During 16+ years at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), John served as Technology Innovation Program Manager, directing technology strategy for next-generation training and mission capabilities. He established "The SHOP," a 2,000 sq. ft. innovation facility that became a cross-agency XR testbed for the Intelligence Community, DoD, and academic partners.
Recognized as an early XR pioneer within the U.S. government, John founded and coordinated the quarterly Virtual Worlds Forum, convening thousands of government, industry, and academic stakeholders to accelerate XR adoption and policy alignment across federal agencies.
John's foundation includes 20 years of U.S. Army service, with operational deployments to the Balkans, Jordan, and Iraq. His military awards include the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Defense Meritorious Service Medal.
He has advised senior leaders on AI-enhanced training and digital transformation, earning recognition as "Training Innovator of the Year" from the Director of National Intelligence.
